Mikes truck has been an on going project for quite a long time now. When money allows we try and do as much as we can. The trucks current state is in a million pieces. The frame is now setup for 20's and Mike has 4- 20" Billet Specialties GTX45 wheels for it. The cab and bed and all corresponding sheetmetal are at the painters being re-straightened out after a bad shave job. We hope to see everything back someday to reassemble the truck and get it back on the road.

These are some pics of what I cut off.

Here you can see that the top of the notch is breaking

Mike's truck was built by another shop that basically destroyed it. The truck was so bad that it sheared a rear shock mount off, threw out the front u-joint at the transmission, pulled the rear brake line apart and the 2-link that was originally made for it caused the rearend to swing in an arc that it bottomed out in the front of the notches, pushed the driveshaft into the tranny and pulled the rearend to one side. It moved so far that it hit the frame. So I basically cut the rear half off at the cab and built a new one out of 2x4"box tubing.

The back half extends through the stock frame 15" under the cab where it is boxed in, welded at all seams and plug welded.

Here is the back half squared up and welded in. I'll be building a triangulated 4-link for it mounted forward and all tubular mounts for the bags.
stay tuned....

Here's a pic of the 4-link installed

Start of the tube work and bag mounts.

The bag mounts and tube work are done. The truck gets 13" of lift in the rear, has the bags mounted on the lower link bars and the 4-link bars are on a true roll through center.

The floor cut and welded back together 3" lower than before

Frame horns cut, dropped and welded back together 3" lower.

The fuel cell and airtank being mocked up and ready to install.
